THE COMMUNITY
Friends since childhood, Mark J. Goldberg and Derek Gazal have been jamming together for years. After meeting Myke Rivera in 2006, the trio began playing music in and around Morristown, NJ and The Community was formed. Bringing together a broad set of influences – from classic blues and rock to jazz and funk – The Community firmly believes in the power that music has to connect people.
In early 2010 The Community released their first studio album, entitled The Project. Later that year, the trio rounded out the band, adding Matt Dans and Rob Stier to create their current line-up. All talented musicians in their own right, their live shows mix Community originals with blues, rock and reggae covers, guaranteeing high energy and good vibes.
The band can be found playing various venues in Northern NJ and NYC. They play regular gigs at Hat City Kitchen in Orange, NJ and the Famished Frog in the band’s hometown, and have headlined at Asbury Park’s famous Stone Pony. Their album, The Project, can be purchased on iTunes or at CD Baby and is regularly featured during Squidrock on 90.3FM the Core. |
